Juries Are the Conscience of Our Community

Over the years, we’ve shared stories from people we know who have suffered needless injuries. Many of them went on to receive justice from our legal system. Others were not so fortunate.

Today, we want to warn you about one very real threat to our most cherished freedoms.

Publicly owned corporations, such as big insurance companies, lack both a conscience and a sense of morality. Their primary purpose is to maximize profits, and they are willing to sacrifice almost anything to succeed —including the individual rights and freedoms guaranteed to us by our U.S. Constitution.

Our founding fathers created a government designed to protect us from such danger. The courts —specifically— are here to protect our individual liberties. But to keep the courts strong, we have to do our part.

When we the people sit as jurors, we are protecting our rights by acting as the conscience of our community. As jurors, we not only enforce the laws, we help create the laws. We also have the opportunity to make our world safer by ensuring that everyone who comes before the court is treated fairly and receives justice.

When you are called for jury duty we encourage you to serve with pride. It’s your chance to stand up and be heard —to make sure that the rules of your community reflect your conscience, your morals, and your standards.
