Cedar City, UT – UPDATE: Speeding On Icy Roadways Cause 15-Vehicle Pileup With Injuries On Interstate 15

Cedar City, UT ( February 22, 2019) – Shortly after 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, Utah Highway Patrol responded to an accident along I-15 at Milepost 66, just two miles north of Cedar City.

Upon arrival, Utah Highway Patrol quickly responded to a series of vehicle accidents along the interstate. Apparently, one accident turned into a chain reaction of accidents involving a total of fifteen vehicles, including several semi-trucks.

Highway Patrol Officers worked diligently to clear away the scene of the accident. Unfortunately, the magnitude of the accident resulted in several vehicles being towed away and lane closures until after 7:00 p.m.

According to Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Ryan Bauer, drivers were traveling too fast for road conditions. Several individuals were treated for injuries as a result of this accident.
