Hurricane, UT – Man Bitten by Dog in Front of Owner

Hurricane, UT (April 16, 2019) – A Hurricane resident was injured on Tuesday afternoon when he was bitten several times by a dog.

The incident took place while the victim was out walking by himself, and came upon a man with two dogs who was chatting with a friend of his. One of the dogs was off his leash at the time. The dog that was not on a leash bit the passerby in his arm, hand, and leg. At this time it is unclear whether the dog approached the man or the man approached the dog. When the owner stepped in to stop the dog from biting, he too received a bite on his hand.

Both men were transported to Dixie Regional Medical Center where they received medical treatment for their injuries. Both dogs will be confined in quarantine for ten days while local law enforcement assesses the situation.

Our thoughts are with the injured victim and his family at this time as we hope for a full recovery.  We hope everyone affected by this incident will be ok.
