Hit-and-Run Accidents in Utah
When the driver leaves the scene of an accident, he or she is committing a hit-and-run. This is an illegal action that can result in severe injury. Hit-and-runs overwhelmingly impact pedestrians cyclists, and 2,049 people were killed in hit-and-run crashes in 2016.
When a pedestrian is struck by a vehicle that leaves the scene, he or she may be unable to receive necessary medical aid. Due to the exposed nature of a person who chooses to walk along the roadway, injuries can be very severe. In some cases, injured pedestrians are able to contact a local Salt Lake City hit-and-run collision lawyer to protect their legal rights after a crash.
