Layton, UT (August 7, 2019) – There was a closure on I-15 on Saturday afternoon, August 3rd, near Layton. The closure was the result of a truck hauling a trailer that rolled over on I-15 near Layton Pkwy. Reports from the Utah Highway Patrol confirmed that the two people inside sustained injuries.
At around 3:15, the truck lost control and veered left, hitting a concrete barrier which caused it to roll. 4 of the 5 lanes were closed following the incident. They were later re-opened at around 6 p.m. after emergency crews had cleared the roadway of any wreckage resulting from the crash.
The identities of the injured parties were not revealed.
No other details are available at this time. An investigation is underway into the cause of the rollover. Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
Rollover Accidents in Salt Lake City
Rollover collisions are incredibly dangerous. Out of nearly 9.1 million car accidents involving an SUV, pickup, or van crash in 2010, only 2.1 percent were rollover crashes. Despite this fact, rollovers accounted for 35 percent of all deadly car crashes that year.
Victims could become projectiles, injuring other occupants and themselves in the process. They could also be ejected from the car, especially if they aren’t properly restrained. Whatever the case, victims should protect their legal rights with the help of an experienced Salt Lake City rollover injury attorney after an accident.
