Sandy, UT – Man Killed In Auto-Pedestrian Accident At 10400 South And Wasatch BoulevardUtah Legal News
Sandy, UT (February 11, 2019) – A man involved in an auto-pedestrian accident at the intersection of 10400 South and Wasatch Boulevard in Sandy on Thursday, February 7th, has died. The victim who tragically lost his life in this accident has been identified as 44-year-old Fernando Cruz La Vana. La Vana was struck by a Toyota Camry as he was crossing the intersection around 12:40 p.m on Thursday.
The 68-year-old driver of the Camry stayed at the scene and did not report any injuries in the accident. The accident is still under investigation.
The police report indicates that the intersection has stop signs, but there are no stop lights to signify who had the right of way. The speed limit on the section of the road is reported to be 35 MPH. It is not clear whether speeding was the cause of the accident or if the driver ran a stop sign.
