Millard County, UT – Man Killed In Crash At UT-257 & UT-6Utah Legal News
Millard County, UT (July 24, 2019) – A man was reported to have been killed in a crash involving multiple horses in Millard County on Friday morning of July 19th. The accident took place at the intersection of UT-257 and UT-6 at around 8:20 a.m.
Utah Highway Patrol has identified the deceased man as a 62-year-old resident of Milford.
The collision involved a blue Dodge pickup truck that was traveling north on UT-257 toward the intersection with UT-6. At the same time, another Dodge pickup was hauling a horse trailer westbound on UT-6.
The blue truck was reported to have run a stop sign at the intersection, entering the area at full speed. According to reports from UHP, the driver of the truck pulling the trailer noticed that the car was not going to stop. It is believed that the driver acknowledged that he could not stop in time with his trailer attached so attempted to speed up to pass the driver before he entered the intersection.
The blue truck ended up striking the vehicle, separating the trailer from the truck and causing horses to be spilled onto the roadway. Two horses were killed and another seriously injured.
The driver of the blue pickup was identified as the deceased victim, who was ejected from the vehicle in the collision.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
We would like to extend our deepest condolences to the family of Randy Haddenham at this time.
Utah Speeding Related Crashes
Many car crashes in Utah involve vehicles that are traveling at an unsafe speed.
This can cause drivers to be unable to react to hazards on the roadway, potentially causing serious accidents.
When someone is injured in a crash at a high-speed, the sustained damages can be intensified, and in particularly tragic cases can result in the death of those involved.
