Salt Lake City, UT – Officer With Poor Driving History Killed Cindreia Europe in Pedestrian AccidentUtah Legal News
Salt Lake City, UT (March 23, 2019) – Earlier this month, Cindreia Simone Europe was run over by a Unified Police Officer who was responding to a call for a welfare check in the parking lot of a strip mall at 3304 S. 2300 East.
An investigation of the incident by Salt Lake Police found that officer Megan Franklin has a poor history of driving with law enforcement agencies throughout the area. Initial reports show that Officer Franklin was involved in seven preventable traffic incidents since 2010, some of which caused several hundreds of dollars in damage.
The incident which claimed the life of Ms. Europe was reported as the seventh preventable offense Officer Franklin was involved in over 8-years of service. More information is yet to be released regarding this matter.
We would like to extend our deepest condolences to the family of Cindreia Europe at this difficult time. Our thoughts are with them as they begin the grieving process.
Wrongful Death In Utah
When victims lose their lives due to the reckless and negligent acts of others, surviving family members are able to file wrongful death lawsuits against the responsible party. In some instances, there are many parties who can be held liable for incidents that cause death. Quite often, there are cases where individuals work for government organizations who allow unsafe employees to continue working. In these cases, the employer can be held liable for deaths resulting from their employee’s actions.
Individuals who want to file wrongful death claims against government agencies should contact a wrongful death attorney from Siegfried & Jensen as soon as possible. Surviving family members who wish to file claims against government agencies have a much shorter statute of limitations to bring forth legal claims.
