Salt Lake City, UT (May 24, 2019) – An accident took place on Wednesday, May 22nd that affected the lanes of northbound traffic on Redwood Road. The accident is reported to have occurred shortly before 7:00 in the evening.
Crews from the Salt Lake City Fire departments along with first responders from Gold Cross Ambulance arrived at the scene of an accident that involved a Toyota Camry colliding with a pick-up truck at the intersection of 1300 North and Redwood Road near the Rose Park area.
According to preliminary reports, the driver of the Camry, a 29-year-old female, was traveling eastbound on 1300 North. She attempted to make a left-hand turn onto Redwood Road but neglected to yield the right of way to an oncoming pick-up truck causing the two to collide.
The SLC Fire Department had to extricate the woman who was trapped inside her vehicle as a result of the impact from the crash. The woman was transported to a nearby hospital with injuries to her head and leg. The injuries are reported to be non-life threatening.
The driver of the pick-up truck was unharmed.
