Sardine Canyon, UT (March 20, 2019) – On Tuesday, March 19, around 2:30 p.m., Utah Highway Patrol responded to the scene of a crash along US-91.

According to Utah Highway Patrol Lt. Lee Perry, 88-year old Martin G. Reeder was driving a silver Chevy truck on the northbound side of US Highway when he crossed into the southbound lane for an unknown reason.

After traveling down the highway a short distance, he struck a black Toyota SUV head-on, which was driven by 32-year-old Bryan Alvey. Martin G. Reeder was transported to Logan Regional Hospital in serious condition. His wife, 87-year-old Bonnie Reeder, who was the passenger in the vehicle, was resuscitated at the scene of the crash. She was later pronounced deceased after being airlifted to Ogden Regional Hospital.

Alvey was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment to his injuries. Sardine Canyon was closed for two hours as crews worked to clear away the scene of the incident.
