South Salt Lake, UT – Man Killed in Train Accident at S 300 WestUtah Legal News
South Salt Lake, UT (February 9, 2019) – Police say that 40-year-old Calvin Curley of Arizona was struck and killed in a train accident that happened at 3733 S 300 West.
The accident happened on Thursday when Curley was struck by a FrontRunner after only being in South Salt Lake for a week for work reasons. The UTA claimed that he had been walking in the area on the train alignment when he was struck by the train around 2:30 p.m. He died at the hospital due to his injuries.
UTA said that they regret the tragedy and say that they hope that this serves as a reminder that safety rules should always be upheld when walking around trains. They ask that everybody take responsibility and stay aware of warning signs at all times.
Police continue to investigate the circumstances leading up to the accident.
