Springdale, UT – Accidents on Zion-Mount Carmel Hwy Cause Major Traffic Delays

Springdale, UT (February 18, 2019) – Multiple vehicle accidents along the Zion-Mount Carmel Highway caused major delays in traffic Monday. Around noon, Utah Highway Patrol responded to two motor vehicle accidents along the Highway.

Utah Highway Patrol closed Route 9 due to the accidents and reopened it after clearing the area. The accidents were caused by very slick road conditions. Individuals in both accidents sustained injuries; however, the extent and nature of the injuries sustained are unknown at this time.

Crews responded to the incident and spent several hours clearing the roadway. We hope all individuals involved in these accidents make a full and fast recovery.
