St. George, UT – Two People Taken to Hospital After Head-on Collision on Highway 91Utah Legal News
St. George, UT (February 24, 2019) – Police reported that two people were transported to the hospital in serious condition following a head-on collision on Highway 91.
The accident involved a white Ford F-250 and red Kia Niro and took place around noon, to which officers and emergency personnel responded. The collision took place near a fire station, with firefighters and engines being deployed to the scene only feet away.
Police reported that two occupants inside the Kia suffered the most extensive injuries and were taken to the hospital in serious condition. The driver of the Ford also received injuries, but his were less serious and he was taken to the hospital by a family member.
The driver of the Kia had been traveling south on the highway and struck the Ford, which had been traveling northbound at the time. Police believe that the driver of the Kia had been driving at a high rate of speed at the time.
The impact was so forceful that it spun both vehicles around and caused significant damages to both of them.
Police continue to determine the cause of the accident at this time.
