St. George, UT (February 28, 2019) – On Wednesday, Utah Highway Patrol responded to a report of a car accident near exit 4 on northbound I-15. Upon arriving at the scene, officers noticed a red Ford SUV which was in the ditch on the side of the road.
The unidentified female driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time, but was fortunate enough to only sustain minor injuries. According to Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Grant Hintze, the driver was issued a field sobriety test at the scene of the accident, which demonstrated that she was impaired. Additionally, the driver was operating the vehicle while on a suspended license. She was supposed to have an interlock device installed onto the vehicle prior to the accident, which she did not. The driver was arrested for DUI immediately after the accident.
