St. George, UT – Driver Runs Red Light At Intersection Of South River Road And 1450 South, Causes Accident And InjuriesUtah Legal News
St. George, UT (March 7, 2019) – At 12:20 p.m. on Wednesday, St. George Police and several firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene of a crash on South River Road.
According to St. George Police Officer Andy Mickelson, the driver of a Black Subaru pulled out of a nearby fast-food parking lot and proceeded through an intersection on a green light. The driver of a red Subaru ran a red light on River Road, crashing into the passenger side of the black Subaru.
The impact of the collision spun the red Subaru around, causing it to crash into a Lexus, which was stopped in the westbound lane of 1450 South while waiting to turn right onto River Road. The red Subaru continued to spin down the roadway, where it struck a Ford pickup truck, which was waiting in the southbound left-turn lane of River Road.
The airbags in three of the vehicles were deployed. All vehicles sustained significant damage in the collision and were towed away from the scene. The driver of the red Subaru was cited for failing to obey a traffic-control device. Several parties in this crash sustained minor injuries, for which they received medical attention.
