St. George, UT – Multi-Vehicle Accident On River Road South Of 900 East Causes Injuries

St. George, UT (February 27, 2019) – Around 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, the St. George Police Department responded to an automobile accident involving four vehicles.

The accident occurred along the southbound side of River Road, south of 900 East. According to St. George Police Sgt. Spencer Holmes, the driver of a Ford Econoline van failed to stop at a traffic light, causing it to rear-end a Volkswagen Passat. The force of the collision pushed the Passat into the back side of a Toyota Corolla, which was then pushed into the back side of a Dodge Charger.

The chain of rear-end collisions resulted in minor injuries to the passenger of the van, caused by the deployment of the vehicle’s airbags. As a result, the passenger was transported to Dixie Regional Medical Center by Gold Cross Ambulance for medical treatment. The drivers and passengers in the three other vehicles sustained minor injuries but refused transportation to the hospital. The driver of the van was cited for following too close.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims who sustained injuries in this accident, with the hopes that they will receive the treatment necessary to make complete recoveries.
