Sunset, UT – 2 Injured, 1 Critically In Crash On I-15Utah Legal News
Sunset, UT (July 7, 2019) – A crash that took place on early Friday morning, July 5th, resulted in the injury of the driver and the critical injury of the passenger. The Utah Highway Patrol reported that the accident took place on Interstate 15 near the Davis-Weber County line.
A driver was traveling northbound on the highway when for an unknown reason he veered off the roadway onto the right-hand shoulder where he struck a concrete barrier.
The vehicle corrected onto the roadway where it struck a pickup truck hauling a camper trailer. Both vehicles then left the roadway striking the concrete barrier on the left shoulder, coming to a stop.
UHP reports that both drivers were unconscious. The driver was resuscitated and transported to a local hospital, whereas the passenger remained unconscious and was airlifted to a medical facility in critical condition.
It is believed impairment was a factor in the collision.
The cause of the accident is currently under investigation.
