Utah County, UT (February 8, 2019) – Police say that a woman is in critical condition following a pedestrian crash that took place on SR-147 in Utah County. The accident took place around 6:24 p.m. yesterday, February 7.
The Utah Highway Patrol responded to the accident to find that it took place in an area with very low lights. Police also believe that the vehicle was traveling at the posted speed in the area, 50 mph.
The female pedestrian, whose name has not yet been released, crossed the street to take her trash outside. When she scanned the road and started to walk back across the road, she was put directly in the path of the vehicle. Troopers believe that the woman might have partially impaired vision and was wearing dark clothes at the time.
The woman was transported to the hospital in critical condition. The driver stayed at the scene of the crash and called the authorities. They are currently cooperating with investigators.
