Wasatch County, UT – Man Killed In ATV Crash On US-40 Near Strawberry ReservoirUtah Legal News
Wasatch County, UT (August 7, 2019) – A man was reportedly killed after being struck by a pickup truck while riding an ATV in Wasatch County. The incident happened before noon on Sunday, August 4th, at around 10:30 a.m. on US Hwy 40 near Strawberry Reservoir. The victim was a 50-year-old man from Rock Springs, Wyoming.
Reports from Utah Highway Patrol indicated that the man entered a construction site on US-40 near mile marker 38 after leaving the roadway. Officials claim that the man re-entered the roadway and was struck a pickup truck traveling in the same direction and hauling a camping trailer. The deceased was not wearing a helmet or any protective gear and sustained fatal injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
UHP reports that the shoulder of the roadway was roto-milled and an estimated 6 inches lower than the rest of the road surface. No other injuries were reported.
