Washington County, UT – 13-Year-Old Boy Killed & Another Injured In ATV RolloverUtah Legal News
Washington County, UT (July 24, 2019) – A young boy was killed and another injured in a rollover accident involving an ATV in the afternoon of Wednesday, July 17th. The incident took place near Sand Hollow State Park.
Responders were notified of the accident at around 2:45 p.m. The boy was reportedly riding in the backseat of an ATV along with his father and grandfather. The vehicle was traveling around 50 miles per hour when the group tried to jump a sand dune. This caused the ATV to go 100 feet in the air and roll over many times.
Officials believe that speed was a factor in the accident. The young boy was wearing a seat belt but not a helmet at the time of the crash.
No other information is available at this time.
The crash is under investigation by local authorities.
