West Valley City, UT (April 24, 2019) – A terrible accident took place on Wednesday, April 24 that affected the southbound lanes of traffic on Mountain View Corridor. The accident is reported to have occurred prior to 9:00 at night.
Local police officers and other emergency responders reported to the scene of an accident that involved two passenger vehicles that had collided in the middle of an intersection at Mountain View Corridor and 6200 South.
According to preliminary reports, a car that was traveling westbound on 6200 South ran a red light, which placed it directly in the path of an oncoming vehicle that was headed southbound on Mountain View Corridor. The southbound car crashed into the passenger side of the car that had run the light, killing the 18-year-old passenger immediately.
The drivers of both vehicles were transported to a nearby medical facility for treatment of various injuries. The condition of both drivers was listed as non-life threatening.
The name of the victim has not yet been released and the investigation into the exact cause of this horrible accident is still underway.
